Apple Pancakes

The wonderful thing about pancakes is that there are virtually no limits to what could be added to them to make them even tastier. Our apple pancake recipe incorporates chopped apples and ground cinnamon into a whole wheat pancake batter for a delicious breakfast or brunch treat. The honey in the pancakes makes them naturally sweet too. Enjoy!

Ingredients :

    2 cups whole wheat flour
    4 teaspoons baking powder
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 large eggs, room temperature
    2 cups fat-free milk
    2 tablespoons honey
    1 tablespoon canola oil
    1 medium apple, chopped

Direction :

    In a bowl, whisk together first 4 ingredients. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, honey and oil; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Stir in apple.
    Preheat a lightly greased griddle over medium heat. Pour batter by 1/3 cupfuls onto griddle; turn when bubbles form on top. Cook until second side is golden brown.
